ABOUT ME

Argentine Tango professional Dancer

Francesca Vaccari, Tango dancer, choreographer and teacher, is the creator and director of  El Puntazo Estudio de Tango, a very much appreciated Tango studio in the heart of Barcelona, frequently attended by the biggest Tango names in town.

As a dancer, she started studying classical ballet at the age of 6, under the guidance of ballet Master María Armanini. A few years later she absolutely fell in love with Tango, without knowing that it would later become her professional career.

She personally coached the Oscar nominated actor Steeve Coogan with whom she performed a scene choreographed by herself  in the outcoming latest film by Peter Cattaneo.

In the last few years she has been collaborating artistically with numerous Argentinean and European dancers, among them Diego Escobar, internationally renowned dancer, judge of the Tango World Championship organized by the City of Buenos Aires, Claudio Hoffman, dancer, choreographer and director of the prestigious Tango Dance School of the City of Buenos Aires, Claudio Hoffman, choreographer and director of the world famous company “Tango Metropolis”, Roger Zalazar, European Tango champion and dancer of the company “Tangueros del Sur” directed by the famous Natalia Hills, Thomas Barbier, European champion of Vals Criollo (subgenre of Argentine Tango), among others.

As a teacher she is specially known for the clarity of her precise and technical explanations about body mechanics intertwined with her vivid metaphors and comparisons between Tango and life itself.

One of her aphorisms is: “We learn Tango as an excuse to learn about life. We teach it to spread our life philosophy. We perform it to express philosophy through art”.
